Credit account terms
Version 2, October 2026. Last reviewed 18 October 2026. Needs solicitor review.
- These terms. They apply to business credit accounts with DRVX LTD, trading as DRVX Transport (company no. 17519121, 13 Briscoe Walk, Middleton, Manchester M24 4LG), together with our transport terms. Credit accounts are for companies and LLPs registered at Companies House only, not for private customers. The person who applies confirms they are authorised to apply for the company. Credit accounts are trade credit for transport we arrange; they are not consumer credit.
- Applying and checks. When you apply, we check your company at Companies House: its status, filings, insolvency history, charges, Gazette notices and officers. We may contact the trade references you give. We do not currently use a credit reference agency; if we start, we will update these terms and our privacy notice first. Our system scores the Companies House information to help us, but a person at DRVX approves or declines every application. We may approve, decline, or offer a lower limit or shorter terms. We will tell you the outcome, but we may not always give detailed reasons.
- Credit limit. The total of your unpaid invoices must stay within your credit limit. We may refuse a booking on account that would take you over it. You can still pay upfront.
- Invoices and payment terms. We invoice when a job is booked on your account. You pay each invoice in full within the agreed terms (14 or 30 days from the invoice date), by bank transfer, quoting the invoice number. Please pay invoices without deducting amounts you say we owe you; if you have a claim against us, raise it with us separately and it will be dealt with on its merits.
- Late payment. If you pay late, we may claim statutory interest under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, at 8% a year above the Bank of England base rate (the rate in force on 31 December or 30 June before the payment was due), from the due date until you pay. We may also claim fixed compensation for each late invoice: £40 if it is under £1,000; £70 if it is £1,000 to £9,999.99; £100 if it is £10,000 or more; plus any further reasonable costs of recovering the debt.
- Automatic holds. Our system checks every open account each day against Companies House and our own records. It puts an account on hold automatically if an invoice is more than a few days overdue, your balance goes over your credit limit, or Companies House shows a risk (such as insolvency proceedings, the company no longer being active, a proposal to strike it off, or overdue accounts or confirmation statement). While your account is on hold, new bookings must be paid upfront. A hold is not a decision to close your account: only a person at DRVX can release a hold or close an account, and we will tell you why your account is on hold. You can ask us to review it at any time and give us any information you think we should consider.
- Our right to suspend or close. We may also put your account on hold, lower your limit, shorten your terms or close your account, for example if an invoice is overdue, you go over your limit, public records show a risk or your details change. We may stop arranging jobs that have not been paid for. We will tell you if we do this.
- Invoice queries. Tell us in writing within 7 days of the invoice date if you disagree with it, so we can look into it quickly. Pay any part you don’t dispute on time.
- Changes to your business. Tell us straight away if your company name, address, ownership or directors change, or if you are in financial difficulty.
- Personal guarantee (optional). We may offer a higher limit if a director gives a personal guarantee. This is your choice and is never a condition of having an account. If given, the director personally promises to pay what the company owes us if it doesn’t. It is a separate document signed by the director. Please get independent legal advice before signing it.
- Closing the account. You or we can close the account at any time by email. Everything you owe becomes due on the normal due dates, or straight away if we close it because of a payment problem or insolvency.
- Changes to these terms. We will give you 30 days’ notice by email. Changes don’t affect invoices already issued.
- Law. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts deal with any dispute.

Privacy notice: credit checks

Controller. DRVX LTD (company no. 17519121), 13 Briscoe Walk, Middleton, Manchester M24 4LG. Contact: bookings@drvx.co.uk.
What we use. Your company number, trading address, accounts contact, the requested limit and terms, the director’s name you give, any trade references, and your payment history with us. From Companies House (a public register) we get your company’s status, filing dates, insolvency and Gazette notices, charges, and the names and appointment dates of its officers. Most of this is about your company; it includes personal information about the people named (such as directors and contacts).
Why. To decide whether to offer credit and how much, to check your company each day while the account is open (so we can put it on hold if there is a risk), to collect debts and to prevent fraud. Our lawful bases are legitimate interests (managing credit risk and running our business) and taking steps at your request before a contract.
Automated checks and holds. Our system scores the Companies House information to help us. It never grants or refuses credit by itself: a person at DRVX approves or declines every application. The system can put an open account on hold automatically, without a person deciding first, if an invoice is more than a few days overdue, the balance goes over the credit limit, or Companies House shows a risk such as insolvency, the company no longer being active, a proposal to strike off, or overdue filings. The effect is that new bookings must be paid upfront until a person at DRVX releases the hold. If your account is put on hold, we will tell you why. You can ask us to review it, give us your point of view and challenge the decision, and a person at DRVX will look at it again.
Credit reference agencies. We do not use one yet. If we start using one (for example Creditsafe, Experian, Equifax or Company Watch), we will update this notice first. Agencies keep a record of searches.
Trade references. If you name referees, please tell them. We only ask them about your payment record.
How long we keep it. While your account is open and for six years after it closes. Declined applications: 12 months.
